VERSE:
‘That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’ PHILIPPIANS 2:10-11
REFLECTION:
Just like most of the people I knew, they don’t have exact recollection at what point in their early life they realised they were the one being named or called upon. In my case, I am the the third Carlos of my my patriarch lineage. I do remember though one sultry afternoon by our makeshift backyard, when I was being cuddled by my “yaya” Grace, I’ve heard something familiar (a name) but was addressed and referred to my Gran-father, who was the primo bearer among Carloses in our family. Well, not only by socio-cultural tradition that toddlers often have shortened and “cartoonish” version of their real name, in my case, I was called, Chalopopoy (Popoy, for short). Names impacted every human being’s identity until we acquaint their personality and establish a certain relationship. But JESUS name’s all powerful. JOHN 14:6 II am the Way the Truth, and the Life. There is no other name Like name of Jesus. It is through His mighty name, the dead are raised, the sick are healed, the bound are set free, and a person can attain eternal salvation. God has highly exalted Jesus Christ, seating Him at His right hand. There will come a time where every knee will bow and every tongue will confess the name of Jesus and the power it holds.
PRAYER:
Dear God, I thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ. I honor the name of Jesus Christ, the name that has given me life. Were it not for your son, Lord, I would have remained in my miry pit of sin. I am eternally grateful or the love that shone through your son, and I ill never take it for granted. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
