VERSE:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” JAMES 1:5
REFLECTION:
James’s readers were suffering persecution and living in poverty. They were in social and spiritual conflict. Many believers were living in a worldly manner. James corrects them and challenges them to seek God’s wisdom to work out these problems. In the preceding verses of the abovementioned. The author reminded of the joy under the difficult times for it strengthen our faith as too highlighted in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
The best one to turn to, in times where we need, is God. And God will make that happen, through our spiritual discipline in the guise of our “trials” or “moldings”, think of the Potter and the clay. God is the one who holds all wisdom that is profitale to our lives. when as ask, He will readily give “without reproach”. We can receive wisdom in amny ways-through other believers, through reading God’s word, and through prayers as well.
PRAYER:
Dear Almighty Father, I ask that you provide me with wisdom for the areas in which I lack it. I desire to follow your guidance and no one else’s, because only your wisdom is profitable and speak goodness. Spare me from threat of impatience and pride that I may fall into distrust and doubt. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
Amen ❤ 🙏
