Hearing God's Psalms

"He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Death,where is your sting?!

“The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law.”

1 Corinthians 15:56

Reflection:

In the world but not of the world is the centrifugal force of the problem in the church of Corinth that Paul’s penned his 1st epistle to Corinthians. The world has influenced them (church) rather than influencing the world. And the degree of their foolishness, the false wisdom, arrogance and immortality from within has encroaching and corrupted their very spiritual life. Hence, Paul has then indelibly etched in his letter the empowering grace and the need to know Christ alone and Him crucified.

When I got the lead part of the popular children TV series, The Dumping Ground, i felt the whole world was under my feet, then COVID pandemic came where I contracted the disease and was so ill. I was like the Corinthians and some of the believers today; my futile understanding of how material bodies, subject to sickness, death and eventual decay, could live eternally. Paul explains that God will change the bodies of believers to make them immortal/incorruptible. the verse too reverberated from Romans 7:5 “For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.”

Prayer:

Almighty Abba Father, source of vast wisdom and abounding grace and mercy. Sent Thy only Son, Lord Jesus Christ who knows no sin and made a sinner for us to grant righteousness and holiness in Thine eyes. While we are in this world Oh Father, we pray for our failing faith to be more strengthened and sanctified by the power and illumination of the Holy Spirit to live holy lives. Oh death where art thou sting, for Jesus Christ our Saviour, and Redeemer has reconciled us to our Abba Father granted us eternal life. Amen.
