VERSE:
“BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, IF YE KEEP IN MEMORY WHAT I PREACHED UNTO YOU, UNLESS YE HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN.” 1 CORINTHIANS 15:2
REFLECTION:
Moving and walking by faith and never by sight is the core of Christian living. Just because we cannot see God with our physical eyes, does not mean that He is not real. Because He is. Christian walk is the walk of faith. We live contrary to the world that bases all their belief empirically (ie see, hear, smell, taste and touch). If we forfeit our faith and we do not believe in Christ, all our efforts will
be in vain.
The Futility of Faith If the Dead Are Not Raised. Many people in the ancient Greco-Roman world believed that death ended life completely or led to a permanent but shadowy existence in the underworld. The concept of having a physical body after death was known mainly from popular fables. Educated people thought the idea was ridiculous. Paul deals with the Corinthians’ denial of and confusion about the future, bodily resurrection of Christians (vv. 12, 35). These issues were probably raised in their letter to him (7:1).
PRAYER:
Dear God, I ask that You will help me remain faithful to this cause. Lord, whenever temptation or doubt comes my way, may you give me the strength to turn away from them and focus on You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Amen
All glory to God.
